Save your Thumbs
Do you often struggle when your reflexology client asks for “more pressure”? Or do your thumbs and fingers ache after a busy day of treatments?
You don’t have to choose between giving effective, deep treatments and protecting your hands. The Save Your Thumbs Reflexology Course is designed to help you work more comfortably while maintaining the quality of your treatments. Wands are used selectively — typically in areas where it’s harder to achieve pressure with your thumbs, such as the lungs, intestines, and the heel area that often has harder skin. Some students choose to use wands only for these tricky zones, while others integrate them more widely — it’s completely up to you.

Look After Yourself
My name is Dr Jackie James, and I am a reflexologist with over 25 years of experience. I have been running my own reflexology and aromatherapy training school, Calming Influences, for 20 years, supporting practitioners to develop their skills and provide high-quality care to their clients.
Save your Thumbs is fantastic tool for reflexologists. The wands can be used as little or as much as you like during a treatment, You can use them for the whole treatment but most students choose to use them where they get the most benefit, such as when working the lung area, intestines and around the heel. Using the wands just makes it that much easier and by the end of the day, your thumbs and fingers are not complaining!
In 2024, I completed a Professional Doctorate in Health Sciences at the University of Portsmouth, further enhancing my expertise and understanding of evidence-informed practice.

I’m passionate about helping therapists reach their full potential, and the reflexology wands are a wonderful way to enhance your skills and for those clients who want it, provide a deeper treatment.
