Healthy Eating for the Complementary Therapist - Calming Influences Certificate

This course equips therapists to guide clients toward healthier, sustainable lifestyle choices while deepening their own understanding of nutrition. Rooted in NHS healthy eating guidelines, it goes beyond the basics to explore key nutritional principles and the evidence that supports them.

Recommended for therapists—and valuable for anyone interested in nutrition—this course highlights how diet affects long-term health. Poor dietary choices, such as insufficient fiber, fruit, vegetables, or protein, increase the risk of diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and obesity. Learning to eat well is about more than longevity—it’s about maintaining the energy, fitness, and vitality to enjoy life fully.

Participants gain practical skills to support clients, including completing food diaries, identifying achievable dietary improvements, and confidently discussing nutrition.

The blended course includes:

  • 11 online modules of evidence-based content
  • 22 client fact sheets
  • A workbook assessment, built from the start of the course
  • Unlimited email support from a dedicated tutor

Enhance expertise, expand service offerings, and empower clients to make lasting improvements in their health and well-being.

My name is Dr Jackie James, and I am a reflexologist with over 25 years of experience. I have been running my own reflexology and aromatherapy training school, Calming Influences, for 20 years, supporting practitioners to develop their skills and provide high-quality care to their clients. I believe the Healthy Eating for the Complementary Therapy Client course is essential not just for therapists, but for everyone—mums, dads, teenagers, and anyone who wants to understand food and its impact on health.

Understanding nutrition is the most effective way to maintain long-term health. Many people assume that choosing convenience foods comes without cost, but poor dietary choices can have real consequences later in life. Insufficient intake of fibre, fruit, vegetables, and protein can increase the risk of conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and obesity. This course is about more than adding years to life—it’s about maintaining the energy, fitness, and vitality to enjoy life fully.

The benefits of eating well and aging well are priceless. Through this course, you will gain the knowledge, confidence, and practical strategies to support clients—and yourself—in making healthier dietary choices that enhance overall well-being. From knowledge to healthier living.
